|high water levels. An attempt was made to reach a true
right tributary below the dam, called Dam Creek, to estimate its flow and
sample any fish populations. This proved impossible due to difficulties
of access with the electric fishing gear. Another nearby tributary was visited
by other members of the party, which was flowing at only a few litres per
second. Negotiating the gorge from the upper end in winter proved difficult;
it would be useful to understand what flows enter the gorge from its tributaries
and obtain a more detailed understanding of the fisheries habitat in the
gorge. Attempts to enter the gorge from the lower end also proved difficult
due to high water levels.
In addition to the areas sampled, previous records from the area and the Freshwater Fisheries Database has been searched for any further fisheries data.
